Ben Green stammt aus dem Bundesstaat New York (USA). Sein Musikstudium hat er an der Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan (Diploma) und an der Juilliard School (Bachelor) absolviert. Ausserdem studierte er an der Hochschule der Künste Bern im Masterstudiengang (Schwerpunkt Bassposaune). Er war Bassposaunist in den Orchestern Buffalo Philharmonic und Hartford Symphony und spielt seit 2007 im Orchester des Opernhauses Zürich. Ausserdem hat er in zahlreichen Orchestern in den USA und Europa mitgewirkt, darunter inspirierende Orchester ohne Dirigenten wie Les Dissonances in Frankreich und BandArt in Spanien, aber auch im Tonhalle Orchester Zürich, beim SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg und in der Bayerischen Staatsoper. Als Solist hat Ben Green den Wettbewerb der «International Trombone Association» gewonnen und war mehrmals Finalist. Er gewann auch den 2. Preis bei der «Minnesota Orchestra Zellmer Competition» gewonnen. Zudem trat er als Solist u.a. mit dem Sinfonieorchester Biel, am IPV Festival in Rostock und am Tianjin Jinbao Festival China auf.

Ben Green is a native of Wellsville, New York. Ben is a member of Bern Symphony Orchestra/Konzert Theater Bern.  He was bass trombonist at Opernhaus Zürich from 2007 to 2016.  Previous to Zürich, Ben was bass trombonist with the Buffalo Philharmonic and Hartford Symphony Orchestra. In the summer Ben Green teaches trombone at the Interlochen Arts Camp.  He holds a high school diploma from Interlochen Arts Academy and a Bachelor’s degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Donald Harwood and Per Brevig. He earned his Master's Degree from the HKB Bern studying bass trombone as a solo instrument under Ian Bousfield. He has performed with numerous orchestras throughout the United States and Europe, including especially inspiring projects with orchestras without conductor including Les Dissonances in France and BandArt in Spain, as well as more traditional orchestras like Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich or the Bavarian State Opera.

 As a soloist he has won, been a finalist or honorable mention in every International Trombone Association Bass Trombone competition. He has also been the 2nd prize winner of the Minnesota Orchestra Zellmer Competition.  Solo appearances include soloist with the Biel Symphony Orchestra and as soloist and Masterclass presenter at the IPV Festival in Germany, and Tianjin Jinbao Trombone Festival in Tianjin China, as well as at Silpakorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
